A few words
LOUIS LIVED LIFE TO THE FULL!
Our wonderful son Louis was tragically killed in a skiing accident in France in December 2015. He was just 17 years old. We, his parents, Penny and John, and his sisters, Gabriella and Olivia, miss him terribly and are heartbroken at this injustice that has deprived Louis of his future, meaning his story will remain unwritten.
"He was a wonderful son and brother; compassionate, funny, loving and generous, but above all he had an innate ability to bring people together, to be a catalyst for friendship. We are so proud of Louis and what he achieved in his short life."
Louis was raised in Sturminster Marshall, Dorset where he attended the First School. He then went to St Michael’s Middle in Colehill and from there to Castle Court School and eventually to Canford. He took every opportunity life offered to him and was always full of enthusiasm and at the centre of activity.
Louis was an accomplished sportsman from an early age
tennis lessons from the age of three, football from five and rugby at Wimborne Rugby Club from six. He represented the County at both cricket and hockey. He was also musical, beginning piano lessons at five but settling for guitar as his instrument of choice.
Louis was a popular boy, easy-going and modest with a friendly disposition that enabled him to make friends easily and to keep them. Louis’ friends and social life were important to him and the abiding sentiment from his wide circle of friends is that Louis was a loyal friend and was able to ‘make you feel better about yourself’. He noticed how those around him were feeling and acted appropriately. This is surely the mark of a true friend.
Losing Louis, his mischievous fun, banter and beautiful warm smiles has left a void in our lives that will never be filled, but we are determined that some good must come out of this tragedy and have established this Foundation in Louis’ name. Its aim is to ‘help young people in difficulties’ and will focus on key areas about which Louis expressed concern. We can’t do Louis justice in this small synopsis, nor express our immense love for him but we can, through this Foundation, keep his memory and what he stood for alive. It was our absolute honour to be his Mum and Dad.
